Beneficiaries
Bethany, a non-profit organisation in Bertrams, is a shelter and place of rehabilitation for abused women and their children.
Our mission is to create a caring environment in which women and children find God's love, healing and teaching and to integrate each woman back into society.
In the past year, we have assisted approximately 50 abused women and their children offering them a safe haven and place of rehabilitation. We accommodate up to 50 women and children for approximately 12 - 14 months each
The Frida Hartley Shelter for destitute women and children in Yeoville takes in homeless women, and their children, who have endured neglect, abuse, trauma and homelessness.
We shelter individuals who have lost their jobs and are struggling to make ends meet; young homeless mothers looking to kick-start their lives; and individuals going through financial difficulties, affected by retrenchment or unemployment
At Guild Cottage they have welcomed 18 girl survivors of sexual abuse who represent all demographics in South Africa. Sexual abuse in South Africa as elsewhere cut across all cultural, religious and socio-economic classes.
The girls are removed from their abusive circumstances and are referred to Guild Cottage by the courts. Thier team of experts provide each child with appropriate support and help them to heal.
The aim is to assist these vulnerable girls to become well rounded and productive members of society
We give back to the local communities every year by providing bursaries to certain of the local schools. These bursaries are given to kids living in the area but not able to afford the fees. We have also contributed towards school buses
Hospice Wits in Houghton, is available from the time you are diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. We walk you through the shock and fear, and support you and your family. Just coming to terms with what you know is hard enough. We are there to support and care for you and your family, and help you live your life to the fullest
Agape school aims to create a positive attitude amongst their children without isolating them from the world and its responsibilities, but rather equipping them with: wisdom, knowledge and understanding.
A Godly education is fundamental to the development of each child and Agape attempts to reconnect the learner with the All Mighty. Agape is committed to excellence in education and believes in encouragement, praise and discipline where it is needed
Marang House in Northcliff supports up to 12 ill children from 4 to 14 years old, providing them with a home environment where they can learn to manage their illnesses. These children suffer from serious illnesses that require constant monitoring and regular treatment at a tertiary hospital. Marang House provides them with clothes, housing, food and 24-hour medical care. However, most importantly the children are brought to the hospital each day where they receive not only training on how to manage their disease, but also traditional education
